*POSTED FALL 2012*

Well, here we are. Moving forward from a big, performance-filled summer. Justin has been recovering from tendonitis in his hand that prohibited him from playing music. But, seeing as we are all better now, this means more shows, new media, and even more exciting, new music that will be created.

We were very fortunate to play a "tweener" set at Canmore Folk Fest. On stage, we played to over 2,000 people. Nerves were transformed into an energy I've never felt before. I felt like I was taken over and it ended in what seemed to be only a few seconds. I remember having the time of my life.

At the Edmonton festival, we were fortunate to play a "tweener" set on the mainstage. Looking onto the faces of 18,000 people was so intense. But it was while we were on stage that it finally clicked for me, "This is one festival out of so many around the world. With hard work, there is an opportunity to play for a whole other mass of people."

On my end, I had the best summer of my life. Many new and close friendships were made, and many memories of hilarity forever etched into my past. That is how I will remember the summer. As well, there were many performances at the Canmore, Edmonton, Come by the Hills Folk Festivals, and the Beaumont Blues Fest. We gained a lot of valuable performance experience, and are continuing to develop our own habits and personal performance dynamic.

As a group, we have said we want to play for as many people as we can, and hope that they enjoy it. We are in the midst of applying for many more festivals this year, and we hope we can carry on playing tunes in lands even further away.

Reece

July 2012

Hey everyone! I just wanted to take the time to let you know what is happening with us!
Festivals!

We are rehearsing and preparing new material for the upcoming Edmonton, Canmore, and Mistahiya Folk Festivals! We are extremely excited to be a part of these events, and to have the opportunity to share our music with so many people! A big thanks to the School of Song and March Music Inc. for their support with the Edmonton and Canmore folk festivals.

New album!
We are going in to record our new album, "Lethe" on Saturday, July 14th. This album will also be a live recorded session, with little to no overdubbing, in order to capture our basic essence in a form that is able to be reproduced with every performance. If all goes according to plan, we will have our new album available for August.

"In the Water EP" mastered and redesigned!
As many of you know, we recorded our first EP on our own, and without the know-how to master our tracks. We have decided to have them mastered, to better bring out the song and storm of the tracks. We will be re-releasing "In the Water" as a digipack and completely redesigned, featuring the illustrative and graphic design talents of Adrian Taylor and Lilianne Khuong.

New Songs!
Reece and I are preparing to perform four new songs in anticipation of August and our festival sojourn. The new tunes are songs I have written over the years, that we decided to brush the dust off of and share. We hope you enjoy them!

We truly hope that we will see some of you at the festivals this year. What has made Bardic Form so  special for us is all of you who enjoy our music. We are so lucky to play the music we love and happen to have people appreciate it. You create the excitement for us, and we would love to continue to create music memories with you, as we continue to grow and be inspired by your support. Thank you again,

Most sincerely,
Justin Song

June 2012

Hello all you lovelies. I wanted to take a moment and update everyone who is interested on what Bardic Form is up to! We are very excited to play at Nextfest this year, on June 10th, as part of the CBC Music Series! More details can be found here: http://www.nextfest.org/index.php?page_id=17.

We have recently finished writing a brand new original, "Counterpart." This song really draws from Reece and I's innate and effortless musical connection, and is way too much fun to play.

It is currently June. For this month, we will getting some new photos taken with our dear, dear friend Maret Burns. Maret has taken pictures for/of us before, which were used for our website, promo, and In the Water EP. We are very grateful, and are pleased to announce that she will be joining us at the Edmonton Folk Festival as well. Thank you, Maret!

We plan on recording and releasing a new EP in time for August, to distribute at the Edmonton, Canmore, Mistahiya, and Beaumont festivals. This new album will have between around four or five tracks, including a whistle tune and Bardic Form's first recorded song with vocals. It is a very moving and exciting song for us both, and we are terribly eager to share it. If the album is done early, we will try to book a local show in Edmonton to promote it.

At the moment, scheduling and time are our only restrictions.

We are so happy that we have been able to share our music with all of you, and that you have all taken an ear to it. We hope to continue to bring you new and exciting music.

All the love,

Justin Song

Hey everyone!

Regarding the site:

So we have the barebones of our website up and running. We have videos from our performance at the Shell Theatre opening for Rik Emmett in 2011, as well as a biography and a review from Rhea March of March Music.

We would definitely like someone who is website savvy to help us out with prettying up the site, if there are any takers! We would be willing to be pay for such services.

We have also provided links to our Facebook, Youtube, and Myspace pages if you are interested in checking them out.

If you haven't already "liked" us on Facebook, please feel free to do so to stay connected to updates and events. Subscribe toour Youtube page to be notified of videos.

Regarding upcoming performances:

We are in the process of applying for multiple folk festivals for the summer of 2012 - we'll let you know what our schedule is when we know.

~Sincerely,

Bardic Form
